I assumed the roll of a hunter and observed my professors as my prey, and one by one began to sculpt and claim the heads of them as my “Big Game”

Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Matt Mattox proclaimed himself as a sculptor at a very young age. Matt followed his passion of art beyond his youth, receiving a BFA in Fine Arts from Ringling College of Art and Design. Graduating as a Trustee Scholar and Class Speaker, he received a number of public commissions. One of Matt’s most reputable pieces entitled, “Standing Bow”, can be seen in Sarasota, FL located in Ringling Square. Although he is a sculptor by trade, Matt is an equally reputable painter and drawer.
